We tell you all about our slight price increase
We would like to inform you today of a price change, which will come into force on 1 July, and which will mainly concern our Kampot pepper,
We would like to explain the reasons behind this decision.
We have noted a significant increase in the production costs associated with Kampot pepper, and spices in general. These have been driven by a number of factors, including rising labour costs in Cambodia, rampant inflation, difficult climatic conditions and crop scarcity.
Cambodia has seen an increase in labour costs in recent years. This has had a direct impact on farmers’ wages, leading to higher production costs. We firmly believe in ethical and sustainable practices, and are committed to fair pay for all those involved in our supply chain.
In addition, weather conditions in the Kampot region have been particularly difficult in recent years. Unpredictable weather events, such as prolonged droughts and torrential rains, have had a negative impact on pepper and spice crops.
This has led to a drop in the quantity of pepper harvested and a reduction in its quality for the least well-equipped farmers. We are actively working with local farmers to implement adaptation measures and preserve the exceptional quality that characterises our Kampot pepper. Quality comes first. This is an unwavering commitment, even if it has an impact on the price.
We ensure that our Kampot pepper remains an exceptional product: each bean is rigorously selected by hand. We have invested in improved cultivation techniques, farmer training and infrastructure improvements to ensure that the pepper you receive continues to meet your high expectations.
We’d like to tell you all about it here, in our BLOG, although the price increase applies more strongly to our professional prices, particularly bulk. On our website, you’ll see an increase of just a few centimes, but we wanted to tell you about it today so that you can take advantage of the current rates before the rate change on 1 July.
