How to use our Spicy Sauces?

Ready-made hot sauces can add an extra layer of flavor and heat to your cooking, but starting out and knowing how to use them can be a challenge! With our 13 varieties of Spicy Sauces, from the sweetest to the spiciest, we are certain to have the right one for your dish.

Understand our different types of Sauces

We launched our range of Sauces two years ago with 5 Hot Sauces; our Tamarind BBQ, Khmer Masala, Spicy Pineapple, Spicy Mango, and Smoked Chili (ranging from less spicy to very spicy). We ranked them on our own scale, from 2 to 5 flames, and they are the perfect spicy condiment for barbecues, cocktails, and basically any dish if you ask a spice lover!

The following year, we worked on 5 Sweet Sauces to offer a ready-to-use spicy alternative to those who didn’t like the heat as much! Our Cinnamon Tamarind is the sweetest and even pairs amazingly with desserts, our Ginger Papaya, Duo of Wild Cardamoms, Khmer Roots, and Khmer Ketchup all have very unique aromatic palettes but are all mild and can be enjoyed by the whole family, from the youngest to the eldest!

Finally, our last creations are our 2 Kampot Pepper Sauces: Black and Green, which naturally have that peppery kick but don’t have any additional chili inside. Pretty similar to mustard, it’s all about the dosage!

Use our Sauces as condiments

We created our range of Spicy Sauces to offer a quick, ready-to-use dose of spice for your everyday needs, especially if you don’t have time to cook. Whether it’s to add some heat and acidity to your burger or pizza deliveries at home, directly at the table for your outdoor BBQ settings, or even for on-the-go picnics, there’s always an occasion to add some spices! Our Khmer Roots sauce is our own take on picalilli sauce, so it’s really ideal for sandwiches and hot dogs, and so is our super unique Khmer Ketchup. Our Green Kampot Pepper Sauce also has a really interesting and fresh taste that can easily replace wasabi whilst being milder.

We like to say that our Sauces are pretty similar to mustard in that way, or even jam for our sweeter ones, or at the crossroads of both, like mostarda, which is a spicy-mustardy jam that we enjoy alongside a nice cheeseboard in Savoie and Northern Italy.
We also created our Green Chilies Duo Sauce with oysters specifically in mind, only a few drops will add some incredible kick to any seafood.

Dessert au yaourt et aux épices

Add some spices to your desserts

Who said that Spicy Sauces were only for savoury dishes? We love to use our Tamarind Cinnamon Sauce to make super easy desserts for our guests, by adding it on top of plain or frozen yogurt, or our Duo of Wild Cardamom to fruit salads, like strawberries or raspberries, so easy and delicious! Our Ginger Papaya Sauce is also super versatile and can be added to choux à la crème for example.

Create your own ‘Hot Ones’ Challenge

Spice lovers know well the different iterations of ‘Hot Ones’; a TV show in which a celebrity answers questions as they try out spicy sauces. Don’t worry, our own Sauces are nowhere near that level of heat, as we really wanted to focus on a Sauce with Spices and not a traditional chili sauce. If you already own a few bottles of Sauces, feel free to try them with your friends and family this summer, and see who handles the spice the best!

Use our Sauce in a marinade

Our wide range of Sauces can be used as a marinade for meats, vegetables, and tofu. Simply mix your favourite sauce with oil and vinegar to your liking, and marinate your protein or vegetable for a few hours before cooking. This will infuse the flavors of the sauce into the food, giving it an extra kick of heat and flavours. At the moment, we really love our Black Kampot Pepper and our Spicy Mango Sauces for marinades.

Add our Sauces to dips and sauces

Whether it’s the spicier or the sweeter sauces, they can all be added to dips and vinaigrettes to add some nice spicy flavours. You can add some Tamarind BBQ to your guacamole, hummus, or some Ginger Papaya Sauce to your salsa to give it an extra kick of flavour. You can also mix our Sauces with mayonnaise, sour cream, or yogurt to create a spicy dip for chips or vegetables, or to go with your BBQ grills. We also love to use them in our vinaigrettes, to give some extra love to our salads and vegetables!

Guacamole artisanal

Use our Sauce in soups and stews

Hot sauce can be added to soups and stews to give them an extra kick of heat. Add a few drops of hot sauce to your chili, chicken noodle soup, or beef stew to give it an extra layer of flavor. This summer, we’re adding some Khmer Masala Sauce to our tomato gazpacho, and a couple of drops of our Spicy Pineapple to garnish our cucumber gazpacho for a little spicy surprise!

Start with a spicy breakfast

If you prefer savoury dishes in the morning, you will love our Duo of Green Chilies Sauce that is not too spicy, a bit like a green jalapeno sauce, and will add a lovely touch of acidity to eggs, sausages, bacon, avocado, and all things greasy and delicious. On some mornings for an extra kick, we also love to use some Khmer Masala.
If you like things of the sweeter side for breakfasts, our Tamarind Cinnamon or Duo of Wild Cardamoms will instantly spice up yoghurts, fruit salads, pancakes, waffles!

Finish with a spicy cocktail!

We have worked with many bartenders who have been using our Spicy Sauces in their amazing creations. Whether you prefer a cocktail or a mocktail, adding a touch of spice to your drink is a really fun way to discover our Sauces. We love adding our Smoked Chili Sauce to Bloody Marys, and our Duo of Green Chilies to margaritas.

We hope that with these new tips you’ll be able to conquer and enjoy all our different Spicy Sauces, and elevate your (spicy) cooking to the next level.
