Our Khmer Roots Sauce celebrates the union of two iconic Cambodian roots: ginger and galangal.

Young ginger (Zingiber officinale) is harvested at its early stage, bringing a vibrant spiciness to the sauce, with an unparalleled freshness that captures the energy of the Cambodian terroir. Ginger has a distinctive flavour that is both pungent, warm, and slightly sweet. It adds a spicy and aromatic dimension to local cuisine and is renowned for its medicinal properties.

Galangal, a cousin of ginger from the Zingiberaceae family, offers a peppery and citrusy depth, adding an exotic and distinctive note to our Khmer Roots Sauce. The galangal rhizome has a paler skin than ginger and is tougher. It has a fibrous texture and tends to be larger than the ginger rhizome. In Cambodia, galangal is an essential component of many traditional recipes, adding a characteristic flavour to dishes.

Our Khmer Roots Sauce is a fusion of aromas that transports you to the lush gardens of Kampot, Cambodia.

The bold and powerful notes of ginger, turmeric, and galangal rhizomes create a robust base, evoking the iconic roots of Khmer cuisine. These deep flavours are balanced by the sweet notes of banana and palm blossom sugar, adding a delicate touch to every bite.

The sauce is composed of meticulously selected ingredients from our farm in Kampot.
