The limited edition “Discovery” box contains the fresh spice blends that we have concocted for you at La Plantation:
– Our PGI Black Kampot Pepper. Recognised as one of the best peppers in the world, PGI Black Kampot Pepper is cultivated in the traditional way where each grain is selected one by one by hand. Unique in the world, it develops strong and delicate aromas. Its taste is sweet and intense at the same time and reveals resinous notes, eucalyptus and fresh mint. Kampot Black Pepper PGI is an exceptional pepper that reveals an exceptional length in the mouth.
– Our Chai Spice Blend. Naturally sweetened with cinnamon, this blend of Khmer spices is an explosion of rich, fragrant flavours in the mouth. It is ideal for use in Chai lattes, where a simple spoonful is enough to enhance the various milks. It is also used to spice up sweet preparations such as ice creams and sorbets, fruit salads in all seasons, or even crumble and shortbread dough.
– Our Khmer Roots Sauce. This sauce highlights three rhizomes used daily in Khmer cuisine: ginger, turmeric and galanga. Their strong and powerful notes are balanced with the sweetness of banana and palm flower sugar. With its beautiful yellow-orange colour, this sauce is a concentrate of flavours that sublimates meat, fish and vegetables, but also deliciously accompanies rice and curries. Voted by the Gourmet Selection jury from among a hundred or so products, it has just been elected Best Of 2022 by Gourmet in the Sauces and Condiments category.
– Our Wooden Mill. To preserve all the richness of its aromas, the IGP Black Kampot Pepper must be ground or crushed at the last moment. Thanks to its ergonomic design, which combines natural beech wood with transparent effects, the mill can be placed on the table, at the disposal of guests. Equipped with a high quality ceramic mechanism and offering a grind adjustment according to individual tastes, it can be easily and indefinitely recharged.
The “Discovery” box comes with a recipe card “Udon Cacio & Pepe”, taken from the Season Suppers Recipe Book, Vol. 1.
Some recipe ideas: Once you have filled your Pepper Mill with the famous PGI Black Kampot Pepper, it will never leave your table. You will put it on all your dishes!
For the Chai blend, we advise you to put half a spoonful (or more if you wish) in your hot chocolate or hot milk (Chai Latte). But it will also be delicious in an apple or pear count, our seasonal fruits.
Try the Khmer Roots sauce and you will find all kinds of uses for it… As a condiment with your dishes, as a glaze on a codfish steak, in a vinaigrette or mayonnaise, with a fruit salad, or to cook a curry. You can use it in an infinite number of ways.
